Stunning Downtown Denver Wedding
I just love a stunning downtown Denver wedding! This breathtaking wedding was an urban adventure combining contrasting iconic venues with the vibrancy of the downtown area. Which is just perfect for this vibrant and captivating couple.
The Trinity Methodist Church probably seemed huge when it was built over 125 years ago. While the surrounding skyscrapers are a stark contrast to its modern gothic architecture its tall spire still holds its own. Having a wedding ceremony in this historic church with its beautiful stained glass windows and the façade of 108 towering silver and gold pipes is awe-inspiring.
Seawell Grand Ballroom Reception
For the reception we were off to another Denver iconic location – the Denver Center for the Performing Arts and the incredible Seawell Grand Ballroom. This place, with its steel frame and glass atrium, never ceases to amaze me. In the ballroom, a wall of windows looks out over the Denver skyline. The Front Range of the Rocky Mountains on the horizon on one side and the other is a wall of flowing fabric. What the staff here can do with lighting is nothing short of pure genius – they took the couple’s pink and silver theme to a whole new level.
In this wedding, however, there was a moment when time stopped for me in the nanosecond of a shutter click. Bryce’s face with the tear halfway down his cheek that I caught myself whispering: “breathe Bryce, just breathe” as if he could hear me. Seeing Katie walk down the aisle toward him most certainly took his breath away. One look at her and you can see why. She made an amazingly beautiful bride in her beaded strapless mermaid gown. In making a comment about how beautiful she looked more than one of her guests responded: “ Katie is beautiful from the inside out.” I can’t think of a more wonderful compliment!
Katie and Bryce – thank you for allowing me to be part of this special day. I hope I’m not being too nostalgic when I say – may you two always look at each other the way you did on this day. It took my breath away!
