A Magical Moment in Time – Rainy Romantic Telluride Wedding

I really should begin…”once upon a time…” because this day – this wedding – this couple were nothing short of enchanting.

When I first met Jill it was as if we had been best friends since kindergarten. Her warm smile and sincere charm have a way of drawing you in and making you feel comfortable and special. And Pat – well there is no other way to describe him than a truly genuine modern day gentleman.

They found the perfect location for their wedding in Telluride – a mystical mountain site surrounded by the mammoth San Juan Mountains. On this day the sun streaked out between clouds as if to shine a natural spotlight on the occasion. The crimson setting sun immersed the couple in a transcendent glow and at times I couldn’t discern if it was the sun or the glow of love emanating from this couple.

There was truly a sense of magic in the air

A wedding photographers “unicorn” so to speak. Maybe it was the wonderful group of family and friends who so candidly shared in the couple’s delight. Or it was the stunning mountain setting with its down-home kick your shoes off and boogie vibe. Maybe it was this couple so obviously over the moon in love with each other. But, just maybe, this was living life in the moment, slowing down and experiencing the pure bliss of a couple in love beginning a life together.

I didn’t think it was possible to experience a higher fulfillment and thrill in my career until I photographed this rainy romantic Telluride wedding.  I’m still blown away by it. This wedding was the perfect combination of quintessential Nostalgic family moments and Candid joy set in an Adventurous local that speaks to my soul.
