Caroline and Sean's Grant Humphreys Mansion wedding was... rockin'! Seriously, these two know how to throw a party, from the first song to the last, that dance floor was packed! It didn't hurt that they hired Syndicate to perform at their reception, and boy did they deliver!
The last wedding
This was my last wedding of 2019, (unless some last moment booking shows up). The last wedding of a season carries with it a complex set of emotions. The twinge of sadness because it's the last one. Or the sense of breathing room because Saturday is no longer spoken for, the release of creaking finger joints no longer being tested to their limits. Then the sadness of wedding withdrawal, for me a very real thing. I LOVE dance floors, the music, the energy, yes even the drunk people.
I have a blast photographing people who have had a few cocktails having the time of their lives getting down to their favorite jam! Everyone has that one song that get you moving. The song you know all the lyrics to,(hello Young MC's Bust a Move) maybe even memorized the dance moves from the music video. Or the song that takes you back to your childhood, (Bob Seger's Old Time Rock n Roll). The dance floor is THE place for guests to cut loose, the place to really celebrate, also THE place for a photographer to play. I get to try out new lighting ideas, play with different shooting angles, experiment with different techniques, and yes, sing a long to all my favorite songs.
Why I love a Grant Humphreys mansion wedding
What I love about a Grant Humphreys Mansion wedding are all the different places to put a dance floor and all the different photo opps created. Every time I photograph a wedding here, it has a completely different feel. A place with a romantic sense of history, perfect for a modern day couple's love story, (and party).
