Our couple, Andrea and Ryan, embraced and even anticipated the snowfall and it made for the most magnificent, winter wedding at The Sanctuary – located in Daniel’s Park, Colorado.

Fresh Colorado snowfall can provide nature with beautiful, pristine views while also conveying a sense of warmth and comfort for gatherings of friends and family.  Our couple, Andrea and Ryan, embraced and even anticipated the snowfall and it made for the most magnificent, winter wedding at The Sanctuary – located in Daniel’s Park, Colorado.

The romantic story of this wedding unfolded in the details; from the Jenny Packham dress, music from Pride and Predijuce playing as Andrea walked down the aisle, red garden roses, and subtle hints of victorian and decor all came together beautifully.   Couple this with all the snowfall, I felt nostalgia wash over me like being pulled into the chapter of a Jane Austen novel.

Winter weddings are a bit of rarity, but after seeing this one, it really opened my eyes to the potential they have.  We love the Colorado summer sun, the golden leaves of fall, but we tend to abandon the white, blanketed landscapes that are very easy to work with in terms of color and decor choices.  Ceremonies are pretty much guaranteed to be indoors, eliminating the stresses of last minute changes should the weather decide to not cooperate.  Comfort foods are easy choices to make in the planning process.  Most importantly, winter weddings are the times you want precipitation to occur.

As you tell, I’m a fan of winter weddings and I wish to capture them more often.  However, what captivated me and what stuck with me was the ambiance this wedding had and how vividly those memories were recalled as I worked with these images.
